From the President

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. ” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Ahmaud Arbery. Rayshard Brooks. Michael Brown. Philando Castile. George Floyd. Eric Garner. Trayvon Martin. Tamir Rice. Breonna Taylor. Countless other unnecessary deaths. Inaction is action, and the status quo is not acceptable. Black Lives Matter.

Change can only happen if we take a different perspective than we have taken in the past. I encourage every one to listen and keep an open mind; it may compel each of us to do more to reject discrimination and promote equality. Change is not easy, but let’s do what we can to make tomorrow a safer and more inclusive place.

Please contact me with ideas to make our membership, board, profession, & community more accessible to those who have not had the opportunity to acquire or build generational wealth.
